Morsels of Affection

"Frequently performing small, loving gestures creates a cumulative effect that reinforces the depth of our love and care. We often feel that small gestures hold less value than large ones, especially when conveying things as important as love and affection. By choosing instead to recognize that even small gestures can carry big messages to the receivers, we feel inspired to engage in them more frequently. As we make a habit of expressing kindness through small, meaningful actions, our loved ones are reminded again and again that we care. Over time, we realize that our little gestures of kindness have a longer lasting effect than would have one or two large gestures that may fade from memory."

A good thing to remember.

Very wise advice.

Reminds me of a programme recently on penguins. How they reaffirm their relationship after months away from each other. Perhaps we could learn from our feathered friends.

I believe in the small things. A touch, a caress, a smile, a laugh. I touch...A LOT...and to not do so is very foreign to me (though I have been in relationships without touching)...and it's true just a small intimate gesture is better than any attempt at some huge gesture. I think maybe because these little ones come just from being, without thought, without preparation. Big gestures are thought out, planned.

I love the spontaneity of the small gesture :)

When I was very young I was very affectionate ....over time things happened that made me stop.....then as I grew into my adulthood, I once again realized that a simple touch, a smile, an "I love you", a "be safe", are all that is sometimes needed to let others know that we care. In posting this, I was reminded that I do not need to have grand gestures to feel loved, and that I do not need to make them, perhaps it is because of it being Christmas, and I am witnessing so many grand gestures right now.....or it is just the realization that the small ones everyday count so much more.
